Former President Biden's Long History of Racist Remarks

Context:

In this case, President Biden was speaking to a group of  mostly Asian and Hispanic voters at a 2020 campaign rally when he slapped them in the face and then tried to back-pedal. But this was not a simple "slip-of-the-tongue." Joe Biden has a long history of naking racist remarks.

A few examples of Joe Biden's well-documented bigotry:

Way back in 1977, he said that forced busing to desegregate schools would cause his children to “grow up in a racial jungle.” (source: Snopes)

In 2006, Biden remarked to his buddies,  “You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.” (Source: The New York Times & CSPAN)



The following year he referred to Barack Obama as “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean.” (Source: Time Magazine)

Even more outrageous in 2010,  Biden warmly eulogized  a former Exalted Cyclops in the Ku Klux Klan, Sen. Robert Byrd, saying he was “one of my mentors” and that “the Senate is a lesser place for his going. (Source)

That same year during an interview on The Breakfast Club, a radio show popular among Black millennials, Biden spke directly to African Americans who were on the fence about voting for him saying, "If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black." A democrat from Delaware, Joe Biden was the 46th President of the United States. He previously served as Vice President under Barack Obama from 2009 to 2017 and represented Delaware in the United States Senate for 36 years. He won the Presidency in 2020, beating incumbant Donald Trump in a hotly contested election that Trump and his supporters have never conceded. Biden was the first President to turn 80-years-old in office and concerns about his age and cognitive ability persisted throught his presidency. In 2024, Democrat Party leaders pressured Biden to  withraw from seeking a second term, citing poor debate performance and health concerns. Biden's Vice President, Kamala Harris, replaced him as the party's nominee. She was later defeated by Donald Trump. (source)
