Context:
In this case, President Biden was speaking to a group of mostly Asian and Hispanic voters at a 2020 campaign rally when he slapped them in the face and then tried to back-pedal. But this was not a simple "slip-of-the-tongue." Joe Biden has a long history of naking racist remarks.
A few examples of Joe Biden's well-documented bigotry:
Way back in 1977, he said that forced busing to desegregate schools would cause his children to “grow up in a racial jungle.” (source: Snopes)
In 2006, Biden remarked to his buddies, “You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.” (Source: The New York Times & CSPAN)
The following year he referred to Barack Obama as “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean.” (Source: Time Magazine)
Even more outrageous in 2010, Biden warmly eulogized a former Exalted Cyclops in the Ku Klux Klan, Sen. Robert Byrd, saying he was “one of my mentors” and that “the Senate is a lesser place for his going. (Source)
That same year during an interview on The Breakfast Club, a radio show popular among Black millennials, Biden spke directly to African Americans who were on the fence about voting for him saying, "If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black."
