A democrat from Delaware, Joe Biden was the 46th President of the United States. He previously served as Vice President under Barack Obama from 2009 to 2017 and represented Delaware in the United States Senate for 36 years. He won the Presidency in 2020, beating incumbant Donald Trump in a hotly contested election that Trump and his supporters have never conceded. Biden was the first President to turn 80-years-old in office and concerns about his age and cognitive ability persisted throught his presidency. In 2024, Democrat Party leaders pressured Biden to withraw from seeking a second term, citing poor debate performance and health concerns. Biden's Vice President, Kamala Harris, replaced him as the party's nominee. She was later defeated by Donald Trump. (source)
